Schwab Gives Back

Helping People Make Ends Meat Since 1912

Oklahoma is one of the hungriest states in the nation with one in six residents having limited access to healthy food. That’s why we have worked non-stop to help the people of our state and others put food on the table. So far, we’ve succeeded in helping dozens of organizations provide hot meals to those less fortunate than ourselves.

When Oklahomans help Oklahomans, you’d be surprised what we can accomplish.

What Makes It All Worthwhile

Regional Foodbank of Oklahoma:

The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma partnered with Schwab Meat in 2003 to fight hunger and feed hope throughout Oklahoma. Thanks to their continued support, more than 37,500 meals have been provided to chronically hungry children, seniors living on limited incomes and hardworking families struggling to put food on the table.

Boys and Girls Club of OKC:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County exist to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. BGCOKC provides a safe positive place for kids and through dynamic programs and nurturing staff, the Club empowers youth to make the right decisions.

Protein is a dietary staple, and often very hard to source. That’s why we are so thankful for Schwab Meat’s support to help feed our neighbors in need of food assistance. Thank you for your partnership.

We are so proud to have Schwab Meat’s as a sponsor of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County. Their support, through our events, helps ensure that we are able to continue serving over 3,800 Oklahoma County youth each year and provide each of them with opportunities to achieve great futures!

Someday Soon Foundation:

Someday Soon Foundation started by buying meals for people they would see on the streets, and now they serve around 200 people per event. They aim to create an environment that allows people a couple hours out of the month to come together and have a decent meal. Some people have no idea the impact a warm meal and a good conversation can have on someone.

Disaster Donations:

Schwab Meat has always been there for people when hard times hit. We consistently donate to disasters in our own state when tragedies like tornados hit, but we also went beyond our state’s borders to donate hundreds of pounds of meat to our neighbors who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. You never know when a disaster might strike, but we’re always ready to help.

Schwab is a company I grew up knowing and when I found out they wanted to partner with me, I was floored. The quality of Schwab products is second to none and their commitment to our state and our people speaks volumes of the values the company was built on. I hope to continue our partnership feeding those less fortunate and I am grateful for every bit of assistance and support your company has given me.

Since we have been part of Oklahoma for over 100 years, we always like to give back to the community that’s loved our family’s recipes for so long! What affects our community affects us, and that’s why we’ll always be here for Oklahoma.

The Family Awareness and Community Teamwork (FACT):

The Family Awareness and Community Teamwork (FACT) is a gang prevention program of the Oklahoma City Police Department that targets youth ages 10-17. The program is sponsored by the Leadership Foundation of Oklahoma, a 501(c)3 organization focused on equipping the community to make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth in Oklahoma City. The officers assigned to this Unit believe through early intervention we can help youth fight the pressure of gangs, and involvement in juvenile delinquency. The officers also mentor the youth for the purpose of instilling good character traits/life skills through positive learning opportunities.

For over ten years, OCPD’s FACT Unit has made visiting their students a priority. This gives them a chance to connect, not only with the student outside of the community center and school setting but just as importantly, in their homes and neighborhoods all over Oklahoma City. This week, as a result of Schwab’s generous sponsorship, FACT had the privilege of loving on their students and families with gift boxes full of a variety of meats. Schwab’s partnership allowed OCPDs’ FACT Unit to show up big, show up in a fresh and new way, and continue to thrive in having a healthy and positive impact on Oklahoma City, its youth, and their families.
